Metallic materials often demonstrate excellent mechanical properties and high damage-tolerance under demanding service conditions, thus are widely used as important structural materials. Kinetics of plastic deformations are interested for the metallic materials to understand the relationship between their structures and properties as well as performance. The research objects are focused on key structural materials, where mechanisms of yield, fatigue and creep deformations are particularly interested. By developing and applying quantitative electron microscopy methods, relationships are studied and resolved between structural evolutions in the materials and their mechanical properties and performance.
