Marine Corrosion and Protection



Focusing on the corrosion mechanism and protection methods of metals in harsh marine environments. Through the studies of metal corrosion and failure mechanisms of organic anti-corrosion coating, anti-corrosion organic protective coatings with various functions were researched and developed, such as a new interfacial chemical bonded organic coating in the deep-sea environment. On the other hand, the synergistic corrosion mechanism of chemical reactions and electrochemical reactions of metallic materials under solid NaCl in water vapor at middle high temperature has been studied. According to the corrosion mechanism, the composition/structure design principle of metals and corresponding protective coatings in this environment are established. The cooperation mechanism between stress and electrochemical interactions on metals have also been studied under solid NaCl at middle high temperature, and also in the deep-sea environment.
