To meet the critical requirements on advanced high-temperature structural materials for aeronautics and astronautics applications, the researches focus on the high throughput design and technological advancement of ceramic matrix composites and its multifunctional thermal and environmental barrier coatings, as well as the fundamental understanding of degradation mechanisms in extreme environment and exploring strategic protections and modifications. Developing highly porous ceramics and aerogels for high temperature thermal insulator and set up characterization and evaluation experimental platform under near-service harsh conditions.
