Ultra-High Temperature Structure Materials and Protective Coatings



The research objectives are further understanding the oxidation performances and mechanical degradation of advanced thermo-structure materials in extreme environments of high/ultra-high temperature, oxidizing gas and mechanical loading, finally establishing new testing methods and oxidation theories, developing new oxidation resistant thermo-structure composites. The researches focus on oxidation behaviors of advanced thermo-structure materials at high/ultra-high temperature, interaction effects of oxidation and mechanical loading on performance degradation of materials in thermal-forcing-oxidizing synactic environment, new ultra-high temperature ceramics (UHTCs) with excellent oxidation resistance and thermal shock resistance over a wide range of temperatures, ultrahigh temperature oxidation resistant coatings.
